The 2010 Boskola Bal supporting Boston's Bartók Béla Hungarian School

The Bartok Bela Hungarian School of Boston... Did you now, that we Boston Hungarians have a thriving Hungarian school in Lexington called the Bartok Bela Hungarian School? The Bartok Bela Hungarian School proudly announces its 10th year serving the Boston area Hungarian community. AHF is proud to support this great community organization.

The oldest students of Boskola started off over 15 years ago, as babies and toddlers attending "Kuckó," (trans. The Nook) the Hungarian children's playgroup. This group, now all grown up, formed the nucleus of Boskola, the Bartók Béla Hungarian School of Boston that is supported and governed by the Hungarian Society of Massachusetts (HSM). In 2009-10 the school boasts a student body of over 100 students ranging in age from 3 to 18 served by 15 teachers in 10 groups. It is known affectionately as BOSKOLA (BOstoni osKOLA) and it is represented by a sweet hedgehog logo. Read more about [Boskola] or the [Boston Hungarians] or the Ball's [official Website]

The American Hungarian Federation (AHF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1906 in Cleveland, Ohio. The largest Hungarian-American umbrella organization in the United States, AHF is also among the oldest ethnic organizations in the country. AHF was established as an association of Hungarian societies, institutions and churches to "defend the interest of Americans of Hungarian origin in the United States." Read more [about us] or

We are planning a delicious dinner with dancing, a raffle and silent auction. Hungarian ethnic and dance music of all genres will be performed by Mr. Újvári Miklós and his orchestra, the excellent band who performed for us for the Hungarian Ball of 2004, 2006 and 2008.
